Title
Request City Council to adopt Resolution No. 8242 calling and giving notice of holding a General Municipal Election and requesting the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to consolidate said Election with the Presidential Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Body

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council Adopt the Resolution No. 8242 calling and giving notice of holding a General Municipal Election and requesting the Board of Supervisors to consolidate said Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

BACKGROUND
On October 19, 1982, the Mayor and City Council adopted Ordinance No. 860, which changed the City's Election Day from the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April to the same day as the Statewide General Election.

Although elections occur every two years, this resolution is routine in nature as they relate to the conduct of elections.

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION
This Resolution calls and gives notice of holding a General Municipal Election and requesting the Board of Supervisors to consolidate said Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the election of one Mayor, two City Council Members, one City Clerk and one City Treasurer on the City of Rialto for the full terms of four years.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
The request is not a Project as defined by Section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). A "Project" means the whole of an action, which has a potential for resulting in either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. Pursuant to Section 15378 (b)(5) a project does not include organizational or administrative activities of governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment.
