Title
Request City Council to Adopt Resolution No. 7521 Extending the End Date of the Board of State and Community Corrections, California Proposition 47 Program Grant Award for one year, including September 30, 2020 to September 30, 2021.

BACKGROUND:
On July 15, 2017, the City Council accepted the Board of State and Community Correction, (BSCC) California Proposition 47 Program Grant Award for 3 years. BSCC had challenges with the grant onboarding process; causing a delay in grant implementation. A resolution to extend the end date of the BSCC California Proposition 47 program grant by one year would correct the delay in implementation and provide the necessary time to fully implement the grant and keep pace with the award funding dates and deadlines.

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:
In accepting a one-year grant extension, BSCC has requested the City of Rialto adopt a new Resolution for submittal to the BSCC. Specifically, the BSCC is requesting that the revised City Resolution omit references to the fiscal year and amend the Grant Award for a one-year extension to include September 30, 2020 to September 30, 2021.
As lead agency, the City of Rialto continues to be responsible for ongoing communication and coordination with all partner agencies, monitoring of program activities, and maintenance of program data and oversight of all partner agencies to ensure grant compliance. As specified by the BSCC, the Project Director, Financial Officer, and day-to-day Contact must be employees of the City of Rialto.
