RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council:
1) Ratify the submission of the grant application to the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) for the 2024 Out-of-School Time Youth Mentoring Program in the amount of $60,000,
2) Accept the grant award from NRPA in the amount of $60,000; and
3) Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents and agreements necessary to accept the award and implement the program.

BACKGROUND
The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) offers annual grant opportunities to local government agencies to support youth-focused programming outside of school hours. The 2024 Out-of-School Time Youth Mentoring Program Grant is intended to strengthen mentorship initiatives that support positive youth development, emotional well-being, and community engagement.

The City of Rialto Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department (PRCSD) submitted a grant application in alignment with NRPA's goals and the City's commitment to youth empowerment.

In addition to financial support, the grant program provides training and networking opportunities to facilitate the implementation of evidence-based mentoring practices over time.
