Request City Council to: (1) Approve Contract Change Order No. 1 with CT&T Concrete Paving, Inc. in the Amount of $248,595 for Additional Scope of Work for the Frisbie Middle School Safe Route to School Improvements Project, City Project No. 240804; (2) Authorize a Task Order in the Amount of $38,200 with Bureau Veritas North America Pursuant to the City’s “On-Call” Agreement for Construction Management, Inspection, and Materials Testing Services for Additional Scope of Work for the Frisbie Middle School Safe Route to School Improvements Project, City Project No. 240804; and (3) Authorize the City Manager or Their Designee to Execute all Related Documents.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff requests that City Council:
Award a contract change order to CT&T, Concrete Paving Inc., in the amount of $248,595 for additional scope of work for the Frisbie Middle School Safe Route to School (SRTS) Improvements Project, City Project No. 240804;
Authorize a task order in the amount of $38,200 with Bureau Veritas North America pursuant to the City’s “on-call” agreement for construction management, inspection, and materials testing services; and
Authorize the City Manager or their designee to execute all related documents.
BACKGROUND:
On May 3, 2023, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Board authorized the release of the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 Call for Projects for Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities projects and Transit Access Improvement Projects.
On June 13, 2023, the City Council authorized Staff to submit applications through the TDA Article 3 Call for Projects with reference to the City’s School Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plan, which identifies issues and opportunities related to suggested routes for walking and bicycling.
