BACKGROUND
On February 11, 2025, the Rialto Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department (PRCSD) was invited to apply for the 2025 LA84 Foundation Learn to Swim Grant. The grant was due on Friday, February 21, at 5:00 p.m. Rialto residents will pay $20 per scholarship, while LA84 will sponsor $40. If awarded, this funding will enable the city to offer 250 subsidized swim lessons, ensuring that more children can learn vital water safety skills
ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION
PRCSD actively seeks grant opportunities that enhance community programs and services. Due to a tight application deadline, the department submitted a grant application for the Learn to Swim Grant from the LA84 Foundation.
The LA84 Foundation provides funding to support aquatic programs in underserved communities. If awarded, the grant will fund subsidized swim lessons at the City's pool throughout the summer, ensuring more families in Rialto have access to affordable water safety education.
