Title

Request City Council to Cancel the Regular 2020 City Council meeting dates of August 25, October 13, October 27, November 24 and December 22, 2020.

BACKGROUND

Historically, the City Council would cancel the 2nd meeting in August for summer recess and the October meetings during the Pre-Election period, as well as the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday period.

 

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION

City Council to consider canceling the following regular meeting dates as requested due to the following reasons:

                     The meeting of August 25 for summer recess.

                     The meetings of October 13 and October 27, Pre-Election period.

                     The meeting of November 24 Thanksgiving Holiday week.

                     The meeting of December 22 Christmas Holiday week.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

The proposed action does not meet the definition of a project as defined by Section 15378 California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). A “Project” means the whole of an action, which has a potential for resulting in either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and excludes organizational or administrative activities of governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment.

 

GENERAL PLAN CONSISTENCY

The request is consistent with Guiding Principle 3A of the Rialto General Plan: our city government will lead by example, and will operate in an open, transparent, and responsive manner that will meet the needs of the citizens and is a good place to do business.

The City Attorney has reviewed and supports this staff report.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Operating Budget Impact

This action does not impact the budget.

 

Capital Improvement Budget Impact

There is no impact to the Capital Improvement Budget.

Licensing

A Business License is not required for this action.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council cancel the regular 2020 City Council meeting dates of August 25, October 13, October 27, November 24 and December 22.
