Title

Request Economic Development Committee to Review the Street Overlay and Reconstruction Project and the Joint Projects between the City of Rialto and San Bernardino County.

Body

DISCUSSION:

Street Overlay and Reconstruction Project

The Public Works staff awarded the design contract for the Street Overlay and Reconstruction Project to Advanced Civil Technologies (ACT) on September 22, 2020.  A copy of the Award of Design, street segment and budget is included as Attachment 1.  The design has been completed for two (2) of the project segments on Riverside Avenue.  Staff intends to award the Construction Contract for the Riverside Avenue segment on September 14, 2021.  Currently ACT is finalizing the design for the remaining project streets.

Joint Project City of Rialto and San Bernardino county

The Overlay and Reconstruction project includes street segments where the City shares a boundary with San Bernardino County.  In order to improve the full width street, the City needs to enter into Cooperative Agreements with San Bernardino County for those segments.  A copy of the Summary of Potential Joint Project with San Bernardino County with location maps is included as Attachment 2.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff is presenting both joint projects to the Economic Development Committee to provide an opportunity to review and provide feedback on both projects.
