BACKGROUND:
On September 27, 2016, Council awarded a Professional Services Agreement to STK Architecture Inc. (STK) in the amount of $49,990 for Site Design and Planning Services related to proposed temporary facilities at the Fire Station 205 site (Phase I) (Attachment 1). The design for Phase I is complete and the project ready to advertise for bids; however, the City needs a design for temporary living quarters. The scope of work in Phase 1 includes overall site grading and drainage improvements, an apparatus building, parking, and underground utilities for proposed and future facilities.

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION:
The next step in the process is to include the temporary staff living quarters as a design/build deferred submittal. It was initially envisioned that the temporary living quarters would be provided using pre-fabricated modular units purchased by the City through an existing GSA contract; however, staff has determined that this is not the best option because the GSA contract does not provide for a feasible modular building option that will meet the City's needs. STK proposes to prepare the bidding documents to include the following: floor plan, exterior elevations, reflected ceiling plan, power/communication plan, finish schedule, and specifications.
