Request City Council to (1) Accept the Etiwanda Corridor Improvement Project, City Project No. 160805; (2) Authorize Filing of the Notice of Completion; and (3) Authorize Release of Retention to Vido Samarzich, Inc.

BACKGROUND
On August 13, 2019, the City Council authorized release of Request for Bid No. 20-002 for the Etiwanda Corridor Improvements Project, City Project No. 160805. On October 22, 2019, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Vido Samarzich, Inc. in the amount of $1,098,036 for the Etiwanda Corridor Improvements Project, City Project No. 160805.

This project has several funding sources which include the Cycle 2 Active Transportation Program Grant from the State, Transportation Development Act Article 3 Grant from San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, a grant from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee established under Assembly Bill 2766 and managed through the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and funds from Measure I.

ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION
On November 09, 2020, Vido Samarzich, Inc. satisfactorily completed the Etiwanda Corridor Improvements Project. The project provided for improvements to pedestrian and bicycle facilities along the corridor which includes Etiwanda Avenue, Baseline Road, Maple Avenue, Pepper Avenue, and Spruce Avenue. Work items included road striping, signage, curb ramp upgrades and minor traffic signal modifications. Staff conducted a final inspection and found the work to comply with the plans, specifications, and standards of the City of Rialto. Upon acceptance by City Council, staff will file a Notice of Completion for recordation at the County Recorder's office. A copy of the Notice of Completion is included as Attachment 1.
